I've bought a cauliflower. Never cooked with one before, due to bad memories of mum's soggy cauli and school cauliflower cheese. I'm sure it's not so awful really. Anyone have tasty cauliflower recipes to share please?

cauliflower is my favourite veg! Certainly no need for it to be soggy!

I put mine in the steamer for 15 mins.

Love cauliflower cheese, just pour a cheese sauce over it, also love it stuffed in a pepper. Usually do this when I have left over cauli the day after first cooking it. Just stuff into pepper and pop in oven til cooked. - Cauliflower cheese stuffed in there is even better.

Hmm wil pop to the shop on my way to work now.......

these recipes were in the Guardian the other week. Cheese cauliflower looks fiddly but yummy.

Thanks, it was the Guardian article that made me buy the cauliflower, then I forgot where I'd seen it! I'll attempt the roasted cauliflower this evening.

V popular here is cauliflower and squash curry. You chop up a cauliflower and a butternut squash, saute with an onion for 5-10 mins, add tbsp of curry paste, then add tin of coconut milk. Simmer for 20 mins. I add green beans or peas too near the end.

I love it roasted. Break it into florets and sprinkle over some olive oil (more rather than less!), then season with salt/pepper, some cumin and chilli flakes.

It roasts really quickly - about 20 minutes should do it.

Aloo Gobi - curried potato and cauli.

Cauliflower and broccoli soup - YUM!

Cauliflower is very nice in any sort of curry - just don't overcook it.

Someone on here makes what they call cauliflower 'rice' which I keep meaning to try. I think the Mner in question grates the cauliflower and then lightly cooks (steaming I guess). Don't remember the details but maybe she will come along and tell us. It sounds very nice anyway, they eat it as a low carb version of rice.
