jamie does a good curry in his happy days book.

this

it makes 6 adult portions of sauce. we do it with chicken or prawns.
i leave out the curry leaves as i can never find them.
i also just chop onions- rather than using magimix and blitz it all when add tinned tomato to make smooth sauce.

freezes brilliantly

mmm

Ooh ooh - do mattar paneer as it is the yummiest thing ever. Nigella's recipe isn't bad at all.

Gordon Ramsay's butter chicken is good - it's on Times Online.

Also Hugh FW has one on channel 4 website- Gills. Using slow cook beef which is very econimical. But my fav is Rick Steins prawn Caladine, so easy absolute winner but obviously using raw king prawns nice but pricey!

Havent had a nice takeaway in years, the meat always cooked over and cover again and the chicken in squares??? yuk good knows what country that has been bleached in. Lamb dried and so fatty.........home made 100 times better and probably a lot less fat.

does it have to be meat/fish? Why cant you boil dal(get it in most tescos)and add some spice to it - simple but delicious recipe.

Lamb with green chillies is delicious. V easy once you've made the marinade. Lovely.

Try the book "Cooking with my Indian mother in law" ? written by an english bloke who married a british asian. Really yummy stuff and really easy to follow recipes. Loads of them are what the indian mother in law cooks every day for her family, so not complicated or long to make. You can tell just by the smell that it's really authentic. and because its written by someone whose not indian, the author doesn't assume any knowledge, and makes it really easy to understand how to make your curry taste like a real curry ? easier than you'd imagine. You can get it on amazon for about a tenner.
