Buying a Birthday cake...

thislittlesisterlola · 19/04/2010 14:54

I would normally make one but will have my hands full with a 4 week old bubba and quite frankly dont fancy any extra stress/worry.

So...I need to buy a plain, iced sponge birthday cake that serves 12-15 people, to decorate. Any ideas who does the best one?
I'm thinking M&S or Sainbury's or Waitrose, just not sure who.

Any ideas much appreciated

TIA

Sainsburys, Tesco and Asda do really nice photo cakes very reasonably priced. You just take in a photo of the child or pet etc. and they will print it onto a cake. I have used this service before and have been very pleased.

I was thinking about a photo cake molly max didnt know Sainsburys did them and if its reasonable all the better. Do you just ask at the customer service desk?
Odd question but did the cake taste good too?

I think my dad would be quite impressed with a photocake and his first grandchild!

our Sainsbury's used to have the blank cakes out by the other birthday cakes, then you got them "done" at the bakery counter. Haven't looked for a while to see if they still do them, and I don't think they ever did them at all stores - maybe call? Sainsbury cake was lovely.
