Have lost my booklet, it has a cake setting but I have no idea about quantities or when to add stuff, can you just make cake mix and bake it yourself in the oven?

Thanks!

I have used the cake setting on my bread mixer and I can honestly say...For the love of cake, woman, DON'T do it!!!

The outcome, having followed the instructions to the letter, was a cuboid sponge (bath NOT cake) that slowly deflated as it cooled to leave a small, wrinkled oblong of inedible leathery looking substance.

But, if you must then here goes...

Cake:
Butter - 8 tablespoons
Sugar - 160g
Eggs - 5
Self-raising flour - 200g
Lemon juice - 2 teaspoons
Plain flour - 1 tablespoon
Water - 30ml
Baking Powder - 1/2 teaspoons

Mix eggs, butter and sugar in a bowl, add flour and leamon juice then stir. Add plain flour and baking powder, mix again. Oil the inside pan of bread maker, pour in the mixture and select CAKE

Good luck!

I just made this one after finding it online... here and I'm just tasting it, and it's really quite good! A funnt shape i admit and tricky to ice (tall and thin) but definitely tastes like cake!
