...which I made with (bought) "fresh" lasagna sheets.

I've just looked at the packet and it says to boil the sheets. Do you think they will soften up sufficiently in the oven?

Arse.

Should do-cook longer on lower heat than usual and make sauces more liquid than usual.

Miggsie · 05/04/2010 17:34

I found that if you boil them first then srtistically drape them over the saucepan as you layer the mince and cheese the bloody sheets stick to the pan and you have to prise them off with a palette knife.

As such I never boil them first!!!!!!

It will be fine, especially if they were fresh. Not even dried lasagne needs pre-cooking.

SpawnChorus · 05/04/2010 17:34

Tis already assembled and in oven. I'm annoyed with myself for not sticking to the usual dried lasagna.

I read that as "shaved"

CheeryCherry · 05/04/2010 17:35

Yes they will do, but as moondog says, put more liquid on and cook lower in the oven and for longer. May need foil on top for a while so your cheese doesn't brown!

Dh says if there is enough moisture in the sauce it should be ok.

Put in the oven covered with foil and cook for longer. Check after 15mins and maybe add a little water.

DH is italian and a chef so sort of knows what he is talking about! but he has one of those 'ooh dunno if it will taste ok...blah blah'

Go for it!! Remove foil for last 10 mins.

I've never pre-boiled fresh lasagne! Mine have always turned out edible.

PollyTechnique · 05/04/2010 17:37

Pass it off as authentically al dente...

SpawnChorus · 05/04/2010 18:53

It was absolutely fine!
