Homemade burgers...?

How do you make them?

I have mince, eggs, flour, onion.. Anything else I would have to add? I have other things in kitchen, but unsure what else might be needed.

Thanks in advance, from myself and 2 very hungry kids!

How about some herbs? Or a bit of Lea and Perrins?

Remember not to add too much flour. About a teaspoon is plenty.

If you're feeling adventurous - I've been known to hide a chunk of cheese in the middle. Goes lovely and gooey as they cook. Proper 'Cheese burgers'

mince steak, pureed onions and pesto...delicious according to my kids!

JGBMum · 28/03/2010 21:11

Definitely Lea and Perrins, plus a bit of chilli, for taste.

I'm trying to cut down on calories at the moment, so I don't use any flour or egg - but you do need to cook them carefully!

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I just added a touch of chilli powder and some mixed herbs in the end.
Did have a bottle of Lea & Perrins in the cupboard, but the DC aren't that keen on it.

@GoldenSnitch - Will use that cheese tip next time! Sounds delicious!

it is

I add mozzarella or cheddar for children. For adults, you could try something stronger like Stilton...

Lamb mince makes good burgers too. Add a bit of mint sauce to the burger mix. Or a yogurt and mint dressing in place of burger relish.

I add some grated carrot to mine. Just a nice way to get a bit of extra veg into the little ones really.

I add grated carrot to spag bol for the same reason. Tastes great too. Dh moans if I leave it out now!!

The recipes above sound lovely. I often simply season the mince and squash into burgers. Also like a teaspoon of mustard in with the mince. Yummy even if just plain mince.

couple of teaspoons of dijon mustard in mine-lovely and keeps a bit of moistness too.

I just do good quality mince, salt and pepper - lovely.
