Don't usually cook pork unless its a chop as can find it a bit dry and bland.

Any ideas for some juicy succulent lip smacking recipes so I don't have to watch everyone push another one of my mistakes around the plate.

I cant stand honey and have already done nigella's cola recipe and wasn't too impressed.

I have a slow cooker as well if that helps.

TIA

Jazz up what you serve with it and don't cook it till it's dry.

How about rubbing it with olive oil, then a tablespoon of Marigold veggie stock powder for savour, roast it on a rack with a cup of water in the base of the tray so it stays moister, possibly stuff it if that's your thing, then serve in thin slices on top of wilted spinach seasoned with plenty of nutmeg and butter, saute potato slices, and reduce the meat juices down into a lovely meaty

There is a great recipe in a book called Economy Gastronomy which uses pork shoulder but I can't think why it wouldn't work with a leg. From memory it goes something like this:-

Cut the skin off in one piece first so that you can roast that separately for crackling. Rub it with salt then blast it in a really hot oven (maybe while you make roast potatoes).

Roast the pork on top of a bed of chunked up carrots, celery, onions and garlic, a couple of tins of tomatoes, bay leaves and oregano and a slug of red wine, salt and pepper. Use the sauce to baste the meat while it cooks.

You should end up with lovely tender pork, crisp crackling and enough tomato sauce to do a couple of big bowls of pasta. Result!
