You can get baby ones that don't have salt. not cheap!!

DinahRod · 24/03/2010 17:01

kallo low salt

fritata · 24/03/2010 19:25

god yes I bought Knor the other day and they were awful - I threw them away!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 24/03/2010 20:58

kallo but never tried them

BertieBotts · 24/03/2010 21:03

Oh I love knorr ones.

Kallo, yes, they also do tins of bouillon powder which is the same thing, but not in a cube.

If you buy ready made, (most expensive) or concentrated liquid or jelly stock it tends to be less salty but it is more expensive. Useful for e.g. baby cooking as you only really need it for 6 months.

Marigold do a low salt vegetable bouillon powder which is also yeast and gluten free. Tastes good too.

MarionCole · 24/03/2010 21:26

I use Marigold bouillon powder

BlueEyeshadow · 24/03/2010 22:14

We use Kallo here and the ingredient list is reassuringly free of chemicals too!

meltedmarsbars · 24/03/2010 22:16

I use marigold too - veg version for a bit more kick in recipes.

Is it to put into soups/stews etc or for gravy?

satc2bringiton · 24/03/2010 22:17

Kallo are great.

NinjaChipmunk · 25/03/2010 12:59

its for general all purpose use, stews, sauces etc. will keep an eye out for marigold and kallo in that case since they seem to come up so many times. many thanks indeed!
