Can I freeze a shop bought swiss roll?

My mum seems to think that I need feeding up and always brings cakes and chocolate when she comes to me. Today is no exception when she brought 10 choc chip muffins, egg whaffles (why? WHY?) and a foot long swiss roll!

Egg whaffles have a date til June on them so will take them on holiday with us in April. Muffins the DC and DH will eat (and friendly plumber just sorting out the bath). But the swiss roll is grinning at me and I need to hide it away.

It doesn't say I could freeze it, but would it be alright do you think?

If not then DH is taking Swiss Roll for lunch every day this week .

yep will be fine if it's just a jam and buttercream one
not sure how a choc coated one will fare tho

cheers blondemoment. It is now in the freezer. It says, rather attractively 'vanilla flavoured filling' but I'll go for it anyway.

mmm..sounds lush!
but as a thought you could use it as a trifle base if nothing else as the booze fruit,custard and cream will disguise it

is it now an arctic roll?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 23/03/2010 12:50

eww god they were vile
{shudder emoticon}
why on earth have they brought them back?

They are indeed pretty yuk. I have decided to keep the monstrosity frozen til Easter when it will be de-frosted and and made quick sharp into trifle for everyone. And they will enjoy it, even if they say they don't!
