Tips for coooking meat for a newbie

I haven't really eaten meat since I was a child (health reasons really) but DS loves the stuff and is a right little carnivore - he's 14 mnths

So far the most adventurous thing I've cooked for him is sausages or fish fingers! Would like to be a bit more adventurous and healthier

I'm looking for really simple and quick recipes if possible - any recommendations of recipes or a good recipe book to start with gratefully received tia

Get a pack of mince, add some finely chopped onion, mushroom, carrot, peppers, celery whatever really.

Add pasata to some of it to make a bolognasie sauce, and gravy to some to make shepherds pie base/mince and potatoes?

My son has always loved home-made chicken goujons. Slice a boneless, skinless chicken breast into three or four long slices.... dip each in beaten egg, roll in seasoned breadcrumbs and then fry in a little oil until crisp and cooked through.

you can find any recipie online, bbc food is a good website.
my son is also a little carnivore, he loves home made chicken nuggets

skinless chicken breasts, cut into bitesize pieces

coat in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs mixed with paprika and garlic/onion seasoning.

fryor bake of for few mins - don't overload pan,- and serve with HM egg fried rice and veggies.

i often make a big batch and freeze enough for another family meal or when ive got a busy day just defrost them and he has them for lunch/snack.

he also loves mini chicken pot pies.

they are small and can be eaten alone warmed up or part of a meal - and can also be frozen.

buy ready made savoury shortcrust pastry, line a small 6/12 hole cupcake/miffin tin tray with the pastry, press into hole.

i use left over roast chicken in mine for them to be eaten over next day or so, mix with carrots, peas and gravy or cheesy sauce and top with lid pastry egg or milk wash and bake for 10-15 mins until pastry is cooked at 200oc.

you can also do the chicken gougions like chil1234 said but with fresh fish instead aswell. yum!
