Too many bananas?

My ds who is 15 months absolutley LOVES bananas and would eat them all day every day if I let him (ovbiously I don't!)But he does have one most days. Especially if he's not eating much lunc/tea I'll give him a banana as they are filling and good for energy I think. However my boss has just returned from the chiropractor, and announced he is cutting bananas from his diet as they are not good for you. Aparantly they calcify in your joints causing mobility problems and pain in later life. Should I stop ds eating bananas immediatley or is this a load of rubbish?

I'm leaning towards 'load of rubbish' myself. Bananas have lots of great stuff in them (off the top of my head - good source of potassium) and one a day can only do DS good, in my opinion.

This banana thread might help.

Thanks expatkat - I'm fairly new to this but I now realise I should check old threads before I duplicate. Sorry!

As for me, I'm just showing off the fact that I've just learned how to do links

I loathe bananas, personally, but this does sound like total nonsense. Ds likes them.

LOL!!! Who'd have thought there'd be an existing banana thread!

Sorry, new to Mumsnet myself.

I'm quite sure it's a load of rubbish - one of those 'nutrition theories' people take up. I think bananas are great. I actually tried pitching an article on them once.

(Men are quite odd about bananas - DP thinks they're full of fat and sugar...)
