Not Eating

My DD is 17 months, and has always been a fussy eater. But for the past 4 weeks has been living on next to nothing. her diet consists of 1 slice of toast, a bit of chocolate, quavers, and maybe some egg custard if i am lucky.
I can't remember the last time she had breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The last straw came when this week she has even refused to eat fromage frais.
She seems happy and has alot of energy, so my hubby says not to worry!
But i do worry about the lack of vitamins in her diet.
she is just on the 9th centile. The health visitors say that they do not have any answers and no baby will starve themselves.
But I am getting desperate and dread every meal time.
She is not very good with finger food. And will only eat something that she can suck and not chew. She also will only let me feed her if it is dessert.
Has anyone got any tips or been through the same thing, as I am running out of ideas.
Sorry to ramble on !

I wouldn't be surprised if she is experiencing some painful teething - it always makes my ds stop eating and he's a greedy boy. Other than that not much help. Does she like milk - that's very nutritious. Or does she drink too much and not feel hungry? Ditto juice. Have you tried chocolate spread on toast? Or honey?

My daughter was born with an undiagnosed overgrowth syndrome. She had a very large tongue (still has) albeit she had 60% removed at 6 wks old.Consequently she has NEVER eaten any solid food and is now 7 years old! She appears to have no medical reason for not swallowing - although i disbelieve this!I know for sure that a child can survive on cows milk until the age of 7, although i would persevere before learnt behaviour sets in!

I'd cut out the quavers - if she is eating so little you want to make sure that everything she does it is as nutritious as possible - and quavers don't contain anything useful and the act of eating them may make her feel full or that she is satisfied. also very high in salt which can't be too good. will she eat bananas? they are a really excellent food packed with minerals and vitamins and liked by most children - also if she is teething you could give her frozen yoghurt (those yoghurts that come in squeezy tubes are great, just chuck them in the freezer and they come out like healthy little minimilks without so much sugar), she might like those if she likes to suck...

good luck!
