Boiled water or tap water?

Hi,

I'm about to go on holiday with my 6 1/2 month old and am debating whether to boil water for her milk. The first week is on a cruise and the second is in Majorca, I will need to take a travel kettle if I do, whats the view on using bottled water or tap water abroad for drinking and making up milk?

Also I stopped sterilising at 4months and just took the teats and bottles straight from the dishwasher, I would like to just wash by hand as normal on holiday but I'm not sure.

Advice and expereriences would be welcome

Evian bottled water is fine for babies. We went to Menorca when DS1 was 7 months old and I used Evian for him to drink (he was b/f) and sterilised things with cold water sterilising solution on the assumption that my washing up wouldn't be as good as the dishwasher. I didn't sterilise at home.

Actually, now I think back, I even used Evian in the steriliser!!! What can I say, he was a Precious First Born...

I'd personally go with bottled water for convenience and because I think of it as being more sterile altho I've read here that apparently this is not always the case if the bottled water has been left in hot weather a long time. I don't think it should be heated up tho (or not more than a bit ) because it concentrates the minerals or some such thing

When I've travelled I've usually washed bottles etc by hand but used cold water sterilising tablets once a day as well - but be warned - if you buy the wrong type you have to rinse them afterwards with water which starts a whole new 'boiled, bottled or tap water' dilemma
Enjoy the holiday
