Thats it really.

Have 3 big tatties sitting there but have bits growing. Can I use them anyway?

Yup - cut off the growing bits, obv, and I would probably make mash with them as they are likely to be a bit soft but perfectly safe to eat.

I always do. just cut off the shoots, and then cook the potatoes as usual.

They make jacket potatoes OK

Ah thank you.

Going to use them in mixed veg mash kinda thing so will be fine.

I had some spuds that had grown 'legs' and were really past the point of saving. So I planted them in a big tub in the garden and a few months later... I had a lot more nice potatoes!!!

Keep your spuds in a nice dark place to delay them sprouting and rub off any little shoots before using. They'll be fine.
