Can I freeze bottled passata?

Just opened a bottle of passata and only needed a little bit (for a pizza). Under storage, it says it will only keep in the fridge for two days, and doesn't mention freezing. But the only ingredients are tomatoes and salt. So 1) surely I could keep it longer than two days in the fridge? and 2) can I freeze it as long as I put it in a different container?

Yes you can freeze it, and you can freeze it in the jar as well if you want. Liquids expand when they're frozen, which is why you have to be careful with full jars, but as you've already used some of it, it should be fine.

Thanks. Might portion it up anyway for convenience, but good to know I can use the bottle if I can't be bothered prefer.

I always freeze the half a bottle I don't need! Thaws fastest in freezer bags, but plastic containers fine too.

I have found mine will keep in the fridge for up to a week
