Hi All

I used to be on the boards quite a lot but rarely have the time now!

I need some help from fellow mums with LO?s around the same age (DS is just coming up for 18 months now) as I am struggling a bit with DS?s food. My DS is very good at breakfast but is now getting a little fussy with his other meals. I am looking for a little bit of inspiration and am interested to know what your LO is eating for lunch and dinner.

Thanks

Don't whatever you do let him dictate what he will and won't eat - lots of threads on here where fussy eating has set in early.

Someone on here had a theory that it takes about 20 attempts for a kid to accept a new food.

Make meals enjoyable, only put tiny amounts on the plate, don't make any fuss about what is or isn't eaten, and set your rules and stick to them - (eg no pud before main is finished, or whatever)

But above all else, enjoy his trying new sensations!

meltedmarsbars is right. Don;t make meal times into a battle. Give him food, if he doesn't eat much, fine, if he eats none, fine, just take it away and get on weith the day. Don't make an issue out of it.

It's actually an average of 15 exposures to new food before it becomes an accepted taste, so just persevere without battling. Children can use food as a way of getting attention from parnts, so don;t let that happen.
