organic, free range chicken is much pinker than cheap chicken isn't it?

Just an observation really, but I'm new to this whole roasting chicken business .

The legs of free range chicken (or at least the ones I get from Sainsburys) are often quite pink, even if over cooked. Is this because they get lots of exercise?

I don't know. But I think they do bleach chicken burgers etc

i've often thought this, sometimes they're really dark brown

look and smell different I completely agree.

Previous cat only appeared for organic chicken, don't think he recognised the other stuff as meat.......

My cat has no such style, she would appear for the opening of an envelope!

However yes i've noticed more colour in the organic meat. I always buy organic free range now. And we're not rich, just buy less meat and enjoy it more. Hate the idea of what goes into other meat - growth promoters, hormones, anti biotics and now bleach!!!!!!

oh yes, we only buy chicken once a month (veggie 95% of the time). At £6 for a small chicken we aren't going to eat them weekly.
