Is my cheescake salvagable?

Made a lovely baked cheesecake (Nigel Slater) for tomorrow's dinner, but despite wrapping the springform tin in plenty of foil, water has got in and the base is soggy.

Now, I've take the ring off, but left it on the base of the tin, and unless someone comes up with a better idea, I'm going to scoop the cheesecake top off and serve it in bowls with crumbled ginger nut on top.

Is there any way of salvaging the bottome layer - what would happen if I put it in the oven again?

PS Shops are now shut here for hogmanay, so making or buying another pudding is not an option!

Sorry about poor spelling. I'm usually a pedant, but I've had a couple of glasses of fizz.

I think scooping it out is probably your best bet

That's what I thought. Oh well, I'll just call it lemon and orange surprise!

You could serve it with a bit of cherry pie filling. Tescos stocks this.

I agree with scooping it out. Could you put a fancy swirl of cream on top with the crumbled ginger nuts?

Tbh, you need at least 3 layers of foil under and around the tin to stop the water getting in.

I made a lovely cheesecake once. Brought it out of the fridge, to serve to my eager party guests and promptly threw it across the kitchen floor.

That was salvagable.

Cherry filing sounds good!

It wasn't salvagable! Well, we were all so pissed, the top layer that hadn't hit the floor was OK, with spoons shared out!

Can you leave it somewhere to dry out - on a cool rack maybe?

This sort of happened to me and we ate it.

I have cream and a bottle of posh berry coulis, so I'll make it look semi decent.

I don't think I can let it dry off - I think the base is too soggy to even take off the tin. It would all collapse.

Definitely going for a quadruple layer of foil next time!
