Cheese whirls?

I have puff pastry sheets and cheese. Do I just put the grated cheese on and roll it up then slice it? Or is there more to it?

Also how long do they take to cook?

Yup, it's that simple. They take maybe 10 mins to cook, but just keep an eye on them.

It may be a bit late to say this, but it tastes gorgeous if you put a thin layer of marmite or pesto on the pastry before putting on the cheese.

Oh I will try the pesto thanks. Is pesto alright for DD, she's 10 months. Just thought the whirls would make a good snack for her and DS.

ohhhh is that simple?

where do you get sheets from? i always buy them in blocks

MrsWillis · 29/12/2009 15:48

The freezer section in Morrisons. I asked DH for some puff pastry and was expecting the blocks but he got this so thought I would give the whirls a go.

Way too late now, I'm sure ... but I sometimes put passatta on the bottom before the cheese and then when I've sliced them up sprinkle a little oregano on. Taste just like pizza - yummy

I honestly don't know about pesto for a 10 month old, I'm afraid.

Passata and cheese whirls with oregano sound yummy - I bet the boys would love those for supper one night.

I've still not made them! The passata and oregano sounds nice too. I have 2 sheets of puff pastry so could give them both a go. Thanks.
