Fruitbatlings · 22/12/2009 21:04

puff candy?

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 22/12/2009 21:07

Nooooo - baking powder contains other ingredients too not just bicab. By puff candy I assume you mean cinder toffee or honeycomb.

MrsWalton · 22/12/2009 21:08

Puff candy is honeycomb, or Crunchie sans chocolate.

Don't have Sainsburys here.

I thought puff candy was illegal

Fruitbatlings · 22/12/2009 21:09

no, I imagined something like candy floss but can't work out how the bicarb is needed

I can't see any link between toffee/honeycomb and puff candy

Fruitbatlings · 22/12/2009 21:10

oh right, it is honeycomb then. Is that an American word?

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 22/12/2009 21:10

MrsW - sometime pharmacies sell it, where are you? or also known as baking soda in the US.

MrsWalton · 22/12/2009 21:11

Don't think its illegal, not great for your teeth or waistline but not illegal.

Known in Scotland as puff candy, i'm in Ireland. Might try the chemist.

really? I never knew that! Learn something new everyday I thought it sounded American

CaptainNancy · 22/12/2009 21:39

Illegal? Bizarre!
We call it cinder toffee...
