I chucked mine out in error and it has a lovely recipe for Choc Chip cookies towards the back. If anyone has the magazine, would you please have a few minutes to have a look for the recipe and post it .... pretty please. Thanks a million

Do you remember who is on the cover as I have looked in copies dated Dec 2009 and Jan 2010 and the only recipe for cookies I can find is one promoting carnation milk and it is cranberry and choc cookies.

Hi Fab ... I don't, I'm sorry. It's definitely not the January edition as I'm reading it at the moment! I know the recipe you're referring to ... must try it sometime also! It could be November, but was sure it was December. It's in the cookery section on a right hand page and is one of the GHK triple tested recipes. HTH. And thanks again! They are delicious!

I will have another look.

Definitely a proper recipes rather than an advert? And choc chip cookies?

FabIsGettingReadyForXmas · 22/12/2009 12:10

I haven't got the November edition.

I haven't seen any recipes that are triple tested - how does that work? Do they make everything three times to see if it always works?

Millie1 · 22/12/2009 14:04

Hi Fab ... sorry have been out all morning. Definitely a recipe as opposed to an ad. Have no idea how the triple testing works ... just remember seeing that at the top of the page! If you can't find it, please don't worry -I appreciate your having taken the time and trouble to look .

Am back off out shopping now

I will keep looking but must clean my bathroom and tidy up a bit.

hannahsaunt · 22/12/2009 14:20

Def not in December - have just been through twice; sorry.

MollieO · 22/12/2009 14:26

This is what I got when I did a search for Good Housekeeping recipes so hopefully you'll find it here.

Millie1 · 22/12/2009 21:10

You're all brilliant for searching for it ... thank you! Fab ... I'm really sorry but I'm not certain it was November cos I remember making them towards the end of October so I would have bought the Nov issue in October. Sorry for putting you to so much trouble.

If anyone has the November issue, would you mind having a quick look.

Great website MollieO but they're not on it.

Thanks again.

That site does include recipes from GH and other magazines. I assume it is from the magazine publishers. Look at the first page and it lists the magazines it covers.

annwoo · 26/12/2009 17:34

It looks like it is in the September issue. Will post recipe when I have time.....

Millie1 · 26/12/2009 21:26

Thanks Annwoo but September? Didn't think I bought the September issue. That would be great though - no rush. Cheers!

The Just-about Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie (Triple Tested)

225g (8oz) unsalted butter, very soft
125g (4oz) caster sugar
150g (5oz) light muscovado sugar
1.5 tbsp golden syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 lge eggs
375g (13oz) plain flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
350g (12oz) milk chocolate, cut into large chunks

  1. Preheat oven to 200c (180 c fan) mark 6. Line sheets with baking parchment
  1. Beat together butter, sugars, golden syrup and vanilla extract with an electric hand beater or freestanding mixer until pale and fluffy - sd take 5 mins
  1. Grad beat in the eggs, adding 2tsp of the flour if the mixture looks as if it's about to curdle. Sift in the flour, bicarb and 1/4 tsp of salt all at once and beat in quickly for a few seconds. Using large spoon mix in choc chunks.
  1. Spoon heaped teaspoonfuls of mixture onto baking sheets, spacing them well apart. Don't press the mixture down- the mounds will spread during baking. Bake for 10 mins until pale and golden for a chewy biscuit or 12 mins for a crisper version.

Enjoy!
