Is there any acceptable "fast" food for kids ?

I am committed to feeding DS, 14mo only good food and to avoid junk, processed and basically anything with additives for as long as I can. I know the day will come when he will have a mind of his own.
However, I work full time and sometimes I just want to get the odd fish finger out of the freezer, forget all about cooking and put my feet up for the evening.
I saw the ads for Bird?s Eye fish fingers, you know the one with ? ?N is for NOT in my food? and now think fish fingers should be OK. And what about baked beans once in a while, or pizza ?. I am not talking on regular basis, just now and then, when I feel like a break.
Any thoughts ?

Mum2girls, I would go to McDs by myself, buy the Happy meal, eat it and take home just the toy for DS to enjoy. Even better, I would send DH who always confesses on going there for his lunch.

my dd won't allow any processed food to pass her lips everything has to be home made (she's inherited her father and grandfathers gastronomic tastes) to such an extent that when you ask her what she wants for supper she'll come up with things like artichokes asparagus king prawns, monkfish and she's recently discovered the delights of filet mignon!!! nby the way she's 3.5 years old

Baked beans are fine, fish fingers are fine, decent sausages are fine, oven chips are fine - all in moderation. And if I serve ds a sausage I just make sure he has plenty of veggies to eat along with it!

I'm an avid label-reader now and won't buy anything with hydrogenated vegetable oil, lots of salt etc etc and have made my feelings on feeding Big Macs to toddlers well known but I completely agree that a healthy relationship with food is the main thing. It is so easy to tie yourself up in knots about it, but I think if you're own attitude to food is generally balanced, you'll do okay by your kids in the end.

Seeds of Change and Cauldron are good brands btw - no nasties but very tasty. Their pasta sauces are gorgeous.
