Can you overfill a slow cooker?

I just put an enormous veg curry on in the slow cooker. I was using up everything in the bottom of the fridge and could barely close the lid by the time I was finished. I'm assuming it will cook down a bit. Do I actually need to do it in batches?

Will you be at home to keep an eye on it? If not, it might be better to take a little out. I agree it will cook down, But then there'll be more juice, iyswim.

I always fill mine right to the top and I haven't had a problem before, but I always put a cloth/kitchen roll around the base just incase.

Thanks. I'm at home for a bit so should be able to gauge how it's going - but will definitely put a cloth down now just in case!

It was, but I had to take it out of the slow cooker because I couldn't imagine the lentils that were stuck on the top of the veg, not in the liquid at the bottom, ever cooking. Fortunately I have a ginormous Le Creuset dutch oven for just this sort of occasion. Unfortunately now it has a large burnt-on patch that is still being stubborn after 24 hours of soaking. On the plus side, I have enough curry in the freezer to keep us going for the whole first week of January.
