Cooking a fruit cake in a Silverwood tin in an Aga

I'm cooking 4 x 6" square fruit cakes in my silverwood tin, using a mixture quantities for a 12" square tin.

Do I cook them for the same time that I would a 12" cake or do I cook for the amount required for a 6" cake?

Also, for any Aga queens out there where is best to cook it (4 oven Aga).

Pennies,

The timing should be as for the 6inch cake, but then test it. It will not be cooked at that stage, but you can gauge it from there. If you stick to the timings for the 12inch cake, it will be overdone and dry because the dividers draw heat into the middle of the pan.

The one problem, which I know you have encountered because of another 'thread' is that it will not fit easily into the baking oven. If you contact me I can help you out.

What the &*@% is a Silverwood cake tin?

MMB, look at this page and you will see. The pan that Pennies is talking about is the Multisize Cake Pan.

I don't get it. Are they something special?

MMB, You bet they are something special. You can chuck out all your other square cake pans as this does everything they can do, and more (rectangular cakes, batch baking). It fits in a box only 3/4 " deep.
