advice please. I,m not sure what to do about christmas dinner as i'm not a very big eater and there's only two of us and it seems a waste to do the traditional dinner any suggestions?

Pheasant? Beef wellington?

What do you most like to eat?

i'll try anything really.
but for some strange inexplicable reason i find christmas day itself not only very stressful buy also a bit of a let down. I don't mean the giving and recieving of gifts, that by far for me is the best bit, but its every thing else.

Then if I were you I'd get the poshest ready-meal I could stretch to, by which I mean something like M+S beef wellington, with dauphinoise potatoes and some delicious fresh veg (veg side dishes are often a let-down if they have been chopped up and left to dry out in the packet for a long time, so if you want broccoli, for instance, you are better getting a head of that and breaking it up yourself). And some decent wine. And something lovely to nibble on beforehand, something indulgent for pudding, and liqueurs and chocolates. Stress-free and totally delicious.

In fact, surely M+S do posh ready-meal versions of Christmas dinner? As does everywhere else, I imagine. Sorry, I don;t live in the UK so I am only guessing here, but I bet you could get a ready-to-roast turkey crown with stuffing, ready-done potatoes that you only need to roast, all kinds of delicious veg and all the sauces easily enough.

i have been toying with the ides of maybe doing some tapas/antipasti style dishes so that i can pick'n' mix and perhaps then i can be as greedy or not as i liked. i know, i know its not festive perhaps, but do you think it would be terribly bad form so to speak?
