Reheating frozen homemade baby meals

I regularly freeze portions of food for my DCs (cottage pie, stews, pasta dishes etc). With my older DC (3), if I have forgotten to defrost the food peoperly, I have often put the frozen meal in the microwave and just zapped it till piping hot. This has never caused any food poisoning problems that I am aware of.
With DC2 (8mo) I try to remember to defrost the meals through the day, but a few times I have heated the frozen meal in the microwave also.
I mentioned this to a friend recently, and she was shocked. She said that she was sure you need to defost the food fully before putting it in the microwave. She was surprised that none of us had experienced upset stomachs as a result.
Have I been incorrect? Should I only defrost the food normally (e.g. in fridge), or should I defrost it in the microwave and then cook it, or have I been ok just heating it from frozen?

you should be fine with mince meat, fish, you need to cook thouraly until pipping hot all the way through.

You can take fish and burgers straight from the freezer and cook in the oven grill - so no different with microwave aslong as I say it is really pipping hot all the way through (even if you then let cool before serving)

most FP is caused by cross contamination or leaving food at a lower than hot temperature for to long before being eaten.

I used to get the food out the night before and put it in the fridge, or leave it out on the counter for first thing to defrost in time for the meal. Why not do that and then just use the microwave to finish off the defrosting and then heat until very hot and then leave to cool?

i often don't defrost food either here before microwaving, and i make sure piping hot, then leave to cool for a few minutes.

Thanks Ivy.
Fab - I do that 9 times out of 10 (get the food out first thing in the morning). Its just that sometimes I don't know I need to as there's been a change of plan (e.g. was going to cook something fresh but didn't have the time).

Sheep - do you defrost it in microwave first and then cook on high, or just cook on high from frozen?

i just cook on high from frozen.
so for example, fish pie, i'll just pop it in (baby portion) for 3-4 minutes, leave it for a minute, then check it is piping hot all the way through.

maybe i'm wrong though. but i'm the same, sometimes i just need to grab something from the freezer and don't have time / forget in the morning.

When I did cook on high from frozen I found there were still frozen/cold bits.
