Can you have a roast ham for Christmas lunch?

Thinking of doing a turkey and a ham for Christmas lunch, is this normal or should I save the ham for tea or boxing day?

Would nigellas cola ham be suitable or should I cook it in a different way?

have whatever you want!

You could have Pot Noodle if you felt like it

You can have whatever you want!

Turkey on Christmas Day and ham on Boxing Day is traditional, but don't worry about that

Nigella's ham in coca-cola is delicious and very easy - I did it last year

Would nigellas ham taste nice with a roast dinner?

Ham over Christmas is delish. FWIW we always buy a big one and do it for Christmas Eve dinner with creamy mash and green beans and then have enough for over Christmas for supper on Christmas Day, breakfasts with eggs, sandwiches etc.

Nothing wrong with doing it for Christmas Day - a Christmas ham is very traditional - other than it might be an awful lot of effort for you to do both, and maybe people will be so stuffed they won't enjoy both together IYSWIM.

Delia's baked ham and Nigella's baked ham are good. Ham in coca cola would probably work too.

I personally prefer it with salad or maybe bubble and squeak, but have it however you want it!

Actually if you eat it hot, it probably would be OK with roasties, etc

It must be an Irish thing that you have both on Christmas Day. There would be OUTRAGE here if there was no ham!

To be honest, it's because I'm not really a fan of turkey but everyone else wants it. So I thought a ham would be a cheap way of getting a different type of meat.

I thought we could use the leftover ham for sandwhiches later

To get a decent ham will I have to buy from butchers?

OP posts:

I get all my meat from our local butchers (we find it's more tasty!), but I'm sure the ham in the supermarket would be fine.

Yum! You can don't have to do the glaze but it makes it rather festive.

No you can't
