Butter - once its been melted can you use it for baking when it sets again?

Sorry - thicko question really.

I accidentally completely melted the butter I was supposed to be just softening to make a cake. It's now totally liquid and taking ages to reset again even though it has cooled.

Luckily I had some more I could use. But when this lot hardens again can I use it for baking or has its composition changed in some way?

Yes you can use it but best beat it first or make sure your cake mix is really well mixed otherwise you'll get fatty globules.
