Just looked at the Kelly Bronze website and cannot afford that much for a Turkey.

What would you do in my position?

I'm with colditz. Lamb for us. Turkey not our fave. Shocked at Rivens mutant children not liking roasties - ha ha.

leg of lamb as Colditz says

or..

big juicy organic/FR chicken w chopped garlic, thyme and sea salt stuffed under skin, and lemon halves inside

AND....

roast pork w sea salt and fennel

same-ish price, and v g.

Thanks for making me feel better shiny

Although we love lamb, it wouldn't feel like Christmas without turkey onebat and colditz

We don't do turkey anymore and we take it in turns to choosee the meat - this year dd2 wants lamb (I love lamb and so does my dad so that does three years)

It is the best time of year for lamb as weel as they are as mature as they can get and are very suculent by christmas.

When we did have turkey we would stuff mascapone cheese - a couple or three tubes of it between the skin and flesh - it made the meat very very jucie and suculent.

Roast potato and yorkshire pudding with angels on horseback and all the vegtables are my favourite bits

I agree with the free range chicken votes, think chicken is much easier to cook and less likely to dry out.

And local butcher will usually be the best value - and nice to support local businesses rather than blardy Tesco....
