Portofino, there is no way I'm spending my precious sunday morning chopping up boiled eggs in cups!!

I'm from the Cocolepew school of breakfasting, nothing like a good sugar rush to get you going first thing! The Weetabix however means that I don't use up all my weightwatchers points on the first meal of the day

We have a German/continental breakfast.

Fresh rolls and Brioche. Either DH goes to the baker in the village, or I bake them in the morning while he is out cycling)

Ham and cheese platter. Occasionally fresh salmon

Creme fraiche

Boiled egg

Jam and honey

Nutella (DH and the DC, I don't like it)

After breakfast we often go to the French Farmers' Market and buy a cooked chicken so I don't have to cook in the evening.

thereistheball · 15/09/2009 06:56

Bonsoir Anna - that is indeed a wonderful breakfast, but don't you find you need a second one about two hours later? Or is that just me?

BonsoirAnna · 15/09/2009 09:01

DS has the same as every other day of the week (cereal, plus toast sometimes). We have the same as every other day of the week, occasionally have boiled eggs....that's as exciting as it gets here!

dogonpoints · 15/09/2009 20:07

On Sunday we used to have eggy bread, crispy bacon and maple syrup, fruit juice, strong coffee.

But I was feeling porky so now it's just eggy bread, fruit juice and strong coffee.

Pancakes - my favourites are the ones with bacon in...
Waffles
Cinnamon toast made with broiche
french toast
yoghurt fruit and honey
bacon sarnies with loads of ketchup
Muffins

MiniMilk0610 · 22/09/2009 17:34

We usually have one of these:
Pancakes with lemon&sugar or banana&nutella
French toast with banana&golden/maple syrup
Poached eggs on toast
Bacon sarnie

Or if we're feeling lazy then DP takes DD to get croissants while I get a lie-in

Kids are allowed 'sugary cereal' at the weekends. I ahve the usual of porridge made with water and a banans sliced on top......though if I could be arsed I would LOVE a fry up!!!

Sagacious · 22/09/2009 17:37

Warm baguettes (fresh from Tescos)
Bacon
HP sauce

Cup of builders tea

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 22/09/2009 18:54

I never realised other people had a special breakfast for weekends!!

In our house it goes as follows:-

Me: two slices wholegrain toast, one with marmite, one with marmalade. Large mug of tea.

Ds1:One slice of toast with either marmite or marmalade, if I'm around to nag him/make it for him. Otherwise any junk food he can lay his paws on.

Ds2: One and a half weetabix mixed to mush with milk.

DH: nothing at all, usually. If we have them in, a toasted bagel with marmite.

We love our marmite.

cleaningsucks · 22/09/2009 18:55

exactly the same as a weekday here, just with more cups of coffee:

weetabix or oatibix and fruit for the dcs
porridge for dh
toast and marmalade for me

Think I'm rebelling against my childhood - we were forced to have a big fry up on Saturdays and boiled eggs on Sundays, with no alternatives or opting out allowed.
