We're off to stay with a friend this weekend, a 3 hour drive away. I said I'd bring a pudding, so suggestions please for a nice pud that will survive the motorway!

thanks.

take meringues, a pint of cream and some fruit and assemble a pavlova or Eton Mess when you get there

or make a cake and take it in the tin you baked it in - there's a good chocolate cake on here somewhere

here

serve it with whipped cream or creme fraiche

Delia's Choc Bread and Butter pudding is great.

You make it a day before, layer it all up and pop in the fridge, and then take it with you and pop it in the oven at your destination for 40mins.
I have done this quite a number of times, and have found it pretty indestructible!

If you would like the recipe, let me know and I will post it for you.

Just thinking about it is making me hungrey!

Tarts travel well too!

no do not make the eton mess in advance

the meringues dissolve into the cream and disappear
