mn saved me with my dairy-free tweens birthday party lol, now i've got different grown-up issues - all of our usual dinner party recipes are heavy on the cream lol, and we've got a pg no cream guest

(i'm also a bit challenged in the cooking department, so the easier the better - or i'll have to make dh do it and he's supposed to be at work...)

can some foodie mner save my unimaginative bacon?

Poach some fresh apricots in wine & a little sugar

Put in an ovenproof dish & cover with creme frasch (sp) or natural yoghurt & sprinkle with brown sugar - pop under to grill to brown & bubble

Reduce the wine/sugar mixture until a syrup is formed then either drizzel over the hot pudding or continue until it's caramelised and spin sugar out of it then mass together & rest on top

This can be done in individual dishes or in a big dish

You can have cream when you're pregnant though can't you? As long as it is pasteurised. Or does she just not like it?

What about a crumble? My fav, mmmm.

A posh jelly

Cheese cake

Poached pears with a chocolate sauce

lemon cheesecake

As long as it's only cream she's funny about, and not dairy, this is a really tasty and very, very easy dessert.

For a posh dinner party you could substitute the Flake for a mixture of redcurrants/blueberries/raspberries, etc

This is a dead easy Delia pudding and has impressed everyone I've tried it on:

1.Pour greek yogurt over chopped bananas
2.Sprinkle molasses sugar on top

  1. Cover in clingfilm and put in fridge for 2 hours - the molasses will melt into a divine fudgy toffee sauce.
  2. Decorate with nuts or chocolate curls or anything else you fancy.

oo, thanks all - lots of ideas!

it's a 'don't like cream' thing, rather than a pg thing

i'll let you know which one i go for
