SuzyWong Choc Brownies- Does it have to be a 7in square tin?

As above really!

All my tins are rectangular- havent measured them yet though (at work).

Will it matter if I don't use a square tin? Should I make any adjustments to the recipe/quantities/method?

bet your tin is 7x11
they will be thinner so don;t cook them as long or else they dry out in the middle

Thank you Mrsbadger. Do you think I have to bake them ina tin? (Novice alert). Could I use eg a ceramic baking dish type thing?

yes ceramic or oven pyrex would be fine, but again keep an eye on the cooking time - better to check and have to put them back than let them dry out

NB you could use a 8" round tin if you didn;t mind cutting it like a cake rather than into squares - it'd be the same capacity as a 7" square one (iyswim)

i tried them in a round silicon tin (can it still be a tin?) and they didn't quite set in the middle.

i have an unchristened 7" square so thanks for reminding me i will go and make some with ds.
