is there any fruit high in Protien?

DS has ASD and at the moment has a very restricted diet with consists of fruit, fruit puree pots, toffee yoghurts (sometimes) and Frutus bites which are basically fruit puree and fruit juice. He is only a Toddler and so I am really worried about what he is missing out on, one main thing seems Protien.

He likes Strawberries and Blueberries, he has started to eat Mango and will eat a few bits of Banana.

Is there much protien in those, and if not, is there any other fruit I can try which does have some in it?

TIA - I am really stressed about his diet and I am at the stage where I will try anything

Not really I'm afraid - bananas are your best bet, and avocado at least has some fat in

does he drink milk?
Could you make fruit smoothies and sneak some dairy into them? Or add a spoonful of Greek yoghurt to one of his puree pots?

Sorry, babe- I'm no expert but I've never heard of any fruit being massively high in protein, tbh. I think you may have to keep trying to gradually widen his repotoire of foods and maybe add things secretly to the stuff he will eat. Would he tolerate/like smoothies, do you think? You can add specialprotein powder to smoothies, apparently. Not sure if this would be receommended for toddlers though. Or could you add some ground nuts to smoothies or even to his yogurts? I would be tempted to ask for a referral to a dietician for some more specialist advice. You know what though- it's amazing how healthy kids can be on even the most restricted diet.

According to this, blackberries, avocados and dates have the highest protein content. It looks like quite an exhaustive list.

ds (4yo) has a similar diet - he eats toast along with fruit veg and yoghurts (he also eats biscuits and the occasional bits of chocolate and crisps).

Over the past few years I have driven myself mad with worrying about it. In all honesty he is in very good health (apart from constipation - which we can't understand wtih all the fruit veg he gets )

His paed which he was seeing for the constipation didn't seem bothered about it when I mentioned it. Except saying there was some protein in fruit so not too worry.

I do make sure he gets milk and/or yoghurts for every meal. And he gets carbs at least once a day.

Someone once suggested protein powders for him (like bodybuilders use) but tbh I thought there was no chance in getting him to take them so I haven't tried.

The only issue I have with it now is that because he eats few carbs and no almost no protein it takes a lot of food to make him 'full'. Though this has only been a prob since he started eating reasonable amounts
