8oz plain flour and 2oz butter and 2oz lard... pinch of salt... rub fat into flour using finger tips, add couple of spoon fuls of cold water to bind, combine and chill for 20 mins (pastry in fridge not you with glass of wine, although why not whilst waiting!!) then roll out and cook at 200C

LGJ · 21/05/2005 17:18

Whaddya want jam on it

Should think that the butter might be a bit rich, not sure someone will be able to help I am sure.

LGJ · 21/05/2005 17:24

.

Anyone know

mancmum · 21/05/2005 17:26

to get the best pastry you need to use half lard half other fat (e.g butter or hard margarine) if you are veggie you could use hard vegetable margarine for all of it... it has to be the hard stuff as the softer ones make pastry greasy and not very nice... make sure you keep everything really cold and roll it out quickly and don't knead it too much...

Thanks

and stitch if you are still here, sorry that relate is not an option -- I have been amazed at what they have achived with my friends' - I thought they were finished..

however, you can go on your own ... another of my friend's did that as his partner refused to go ... and he found it did help .... he had about 4 sessions on his own and it pulled him back from leaving her...not sure of the details but basically he talked about his gf's behaviour and how it upset him... the counsellor helped him see that some of it was not as unacceptable as he thought and gave him ways to deal with the behaviours that were.. they now have more of a peace between them as he is not pushing all the time for changes which has made them more relaxed.. not perfect but a load better... why not give it a go?
