Can someone come and talk to me about Organic food?

We're just about to start weaning dd and it has really made me look at my eating habits - the foods we eat, sweets/treats etc. Now I am wondering whether we should buy organic?

I am looking at it more from a health pov than a taste one I suppose.

I'd be grateful for your thoughts on organic food please. Worth doing? Essential? No difference?

I might browse the library for a book on it too...

I could not possibly afford to buy organic. I have to shop very cost effectively for my brood and I actively avoid organic. I only buy organic if it's all that's left.

I have found that in some cases organic is cheaper than non organic.

The main difference betwen organic eggs and free range is that organic eggs are definately gm free.

As chicken keepers we were shocked to discover how much poultry feed is made with gm modified maize.

This is what most standard and free range hens are fed. Always buy organic eggs if you want to be sure of avoiding gm foods!

Other than that buy meat and veg locally from a good farm shop ideally, forget organic or grow your own!

Oh and I prefer it. Reminds me of drinking milk as a kid for some reason.
