I am planning on making a french picnic but not sure what sort of things are typically french. Have thought of cheese, champagne, and bread. Whats else?

I need to be able to pack it, wont have facilities that end and i will be travelling for about 1.5 hours with it.

All advice appreciated.

I wont eat eggs but nearly all other things ok. Its for two adults too.

Dessert will be required.

Everytime I go on a picnic in France someone brings/makes tabbouleh (although it's actually north african)

How about indivual apple tarts for dessert?

Patisserie are French pastries (or a bakery which sells them). Dinky strawberry tarts for example.

Or as previous posters suggested apple tarts or pain au chocolat. Croissants or brioche?

(sorry forgot you don't eat eggs)

Jelly, I know you don't eat eggs but is there an egg-free quiche Lorraine or similar?
