How to stop mix sticking to cake tin

It is me ds bday soon & i have bought a lightning mcqueen cake tin from wilton.

I have read the instructions on said tin & it says you can use spray oil then sprinkle with flour,i had a trial run this afternoon & it came out of the tin easily enough but the flour had left a slight skin on the cake.

How do you stop your cakes sticking?

Oh & the features on the cake didnt stand out a lot so it was very hard to ice them.

Thanks

This stuff is brilliant.

I always just rub the inside of the tin with butter and I've never had a cake stick...

I do do the oil and flour thing for bread though.

Great thanks.

Does anyone have any tips for icing it also? It uses buttercream icing & you have to nozzle it on.

I have never done anything like this before, always just made round sponge cakes with icing sugar on top.

It says on the instructions you cant use butter for some bizzare reason.

usually use loads of butter, that cake oil looks good. might try it.

once did a bear shape from a mould - to ice it i did it with butter icng and a star shape nozzle in blobs all over. don't know if that would work for lightning though.
what about doing all the outlines first then filling in with colour?

It says to use the star shaped nozzle to decorate it,i am just hoping that the outlining looks good enough!
