I bought a loaf of bread from the bakery today - how can I stop it going soft overnight?

It is crusty and delicious and I want to eat the lot in one sitting (slathered in butter of course) but I would burst.

Last time I just left it in the cupboard in the bag it came in and it was crap the next day. Is that it's destiny or can it be saved?!

You need to put it in an airtight box/tin then it should stay fresh.

Paper bag, if in plastic it will soften, well my crusty rolls did on monday

Thanks lizzie, I don't have anything big enough - so I'll have to eat it until it will fit

Stick it in the oven on high for 5 minutes in the morning. Then just cut off the already cut edge. Will be as good as new!

Thanks! Now to see if it will last

Just eat it. You know you want to.

Problem solved!!

bread is always better on the day it is baked. I think you just have to accept that it will not be as crusty the next day. The sign of a goo dloaf.

You could put it in the freezer then take it out first thing tomorrow.
