Expired chicken what to do

It expired yesterday 4th has been in very cold fridge unopened - can I freeze it today - tell me I am not to late it's 4kgs. Would you freeze it and eat later?

I wouldn't, no. Chicken is not something I take risks with. Perhaps I worry too much, see what others say!

I would probably use (immediately) it if it didn't smell, but I wouldn't freeze it as that takes time, then time again to defrost which all adds to the time past expiry iyswim.

I'd cook it now and eat over the weekend - as long as it smells ok, obviously.

agree with ZoeC - I would be cooking it now and making sure it is well cooked - should be fine but I would not freeze it or leave it much longer.

That made me laugh OrmIrian - but otherwise highly annoyed at wasting so much food to say nothing of the money

Don't waste it! cook it - grill it? You can freeze it when cooked, shredded, to use in pies, stir fries, pasta bakes, salads, curries... that is far too much chicken to get rid of as long as it doesn't smell bad!!

Once cooked (thoroughly) you can use the cooked meat for 2-3 days or so cold.

Thanks for the advice - but the chicken was most definately off - it stunk.
