creme brulee??

Or carbonara. Well mine isn't very authentic, but fry garlic, bit of onion and some smoked bacon. I usually add a few peas or some green veg (not a lot), then a small amount of stock and then the cream. I find if it is all cream it can be a bit gloopy. Then some parmesan. Authentic carbonara would also have egg yolks (raw), but again, a bit gloopy. Also black pepper and basil!
Oh you might want to put a bit of pasta in it then

BigusBumus · 29/05/2009 14:08

A creamy curry? (The kind of crap Englishy ones my dad used to do in the 70s with sultanas in. Delish though).

OrmIrian · 29/05/2009 14:10

Whip it and serve it with strawberries, or just on top of hot chocolate. Meringues? Use it to make a creamy sauce for salmon with dill?

BecauseImWorthIt · 29/05/2009 14:13

look here

audreyraines · 29/05/2009 14:15

bake scones to eat with whipped cream and jam. mmmm, my favourite.

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/05/2009 14:18

Dauphinoise potatoes.

Butter a large dish (load of butter), rub a cut garlic clove all over the butter, then slice to about the width of a pound coin a load of (peeled) potatoes and pile them in the dish, pausing half way to sprinkle salt and pepper and half the cream. Pile the rest of the spuds on and pour the rest of the cream, plus salt, pepper and some grated parmesan.

Put in the oven til done. The best potatoes ever.

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/05/2009 14:19

Mind you, it's a bit hot for that kind of food, isn;t it (well it is here).

I would be tempted to go and buy an apple pie specially to eat with

BecauseImWorthIt · 29/05/2009 14:20

... and lovely done with celeriac instead of potatoes!

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/05/2009 14:24

Bigus - my grandmother did crappy English curries. They had sultanas, bananas and dessicated coconut in, made creamy with the addition of evaporated milk You may as well have eaten a bowl of Alpen mixed up with a carton of chip shop curry.

drlove8 · 29/05/2009 14:35

lol @ alpen curry ! Getorf have we got the same gran?

BigusBumus · 29/05/2009 14:35

Ha ha! GetOrf, I forgot the banana and dessicated coconut! My dad used to put them in little dishes on the side to add as "toppings". He used to follow a recipe though and in fact i know its the one in the back of the Delia Smith; Complete Cookery Course book, under "LEFT-OVERS". Its made with the leftover chicken off the Sunday roast. And it is very tasty!

... i ended up making the MN worlds most dangerous cake, but with chocolate milkshake powder instead of cocoa ....> and it worked out ok.... had that with the cream.... and let the twins do some "cooking" with the left over cream..... ds4 was saying "mum its not working, when he was trying to whisk it" bless.... you should have seen his wee face when i helped him use the electric mixer , was like this ->.dd4 had great sensory experience rubbing whiped cream into her hair..... but so what?, she enjoyed herself and it washed off at bath time....but thanks everyone for your posts ... will try out those other ideas .... just need to nip to the shops for more cream! lol
