depending on richness of the meal

lemon cheesecake
molten chocolate babycakes

mhmummy · 07/05/2009 20:29

Apple crumble. Easy and delicious. Brown sugar not white. gently stew the apples in a little lemon.

Greensneeze · 07/05/2009 20:31

raspberry pavlova, with ice cream

meltedmarsbars · 07/05/2009 20:36

I second the "anything homemade" thingy

Homemade profiteroles are fab and surprisingly easy to make.

Jux · 07/05/2009 21:21

Something delicious and home made, a crumble, meringue, syllabub, or something I've never had before (but not involving coffee, which I loathe).

Thank you. I'll look forward to it!

glucose · 07/05/2009 21:28

Colinfirth · 07/05/2009 21:52

Selection of small baked things - good fairycakes, small brownies, little biscuits. With wonderful coffee. Then some Italian chesses...

Colinfirth · 07/05/2009 21:53

CHEESES I meant

Aefondkiss · 07/05/2009 21:54

rhubarb tart with stem ginger and a lovely custard.

Ivykaty44 · 07/05/2009 21:55

St Clements pudding yummy scrummy

Ivykaty44 · 07/05/2009 21:55

or rhubarb fool, even goosberry fool actually all three

Thunderduck · 07/05/2009 21:57

Something creamy most likely. Panacotta or creme brulee. Though chocolate is always good.

Caramel croissant pudding is a particular favourite of mine.

Colinfirth · 07/05/2009 21:59

Ice cream sundaes to assemble yourself with homemade chocolate sauace. And butterscotch sauce. and homemade brownies. Whipped cream. Maraschino cherries. Chopped nuts etc etc.
Hmmm, maybe my suggestions lack sophistication.

maamajullah · 07/05/2009 22:01

I would like to have a cream caramel, or a peach crumble.

Thunderduck · 07/05/2009 22:02

Actually I think a knickerbocker glory would be a great idea for a dinner party. It's different and retro.

I haven't had one for years. Must remedy that.

MargaretMountford · 07/05/2009 22:03

I'm having people to dinner this w/end and am making a lime cheesecake and rosewater and pistachio kulfi

deleting · 07/05/2009 22:04

lemon tart in summer and crumble with custard in winter

Thunderduck · 07/05/2009 22:05

That sounds incredible Margaret. I love kulfi.

philopastry · 07/05/2009 22:16

lemon tart with raspberries....
eton mess ...
creme brulee

snice · 07/05/2009 22:24

Simon Hopkinson's Pear and Ginger cake is fabulous with some clotted cream on the side

ClaireDeLoon · 07/05/2009 22:30

Something light - lemony thing or raspberry thing really. I don't like rich pudding.

I like Colinfirth's suggestion of nice small baked things with a good coffee but also maybe a nice glass of vin santo too. I'll go to her house for pud oh yes.

Sycamoretree · 07/05/2009 22:37

I would like sticky toffee pudding please.

maamajullah · 07/05/2009 23:17
