Hi I'm wanting to make a curd tart. The Be-ro recipe.
Can anyoine tell me where to buy the curd. Also is curd cheese the same as cottage cheese or are they totally different. Would be interested to know if anyone has made the curd tart and how was it.

I bought curd from Morrisons a few years ago, I don't know if they still sell it (and I'm in Yorkshire so it might be a regional thing?)

I made curd tart/cheesecake (probably also the Be-Ro recipe) and it was OK, maybe a bit dry.

I believe curd is different to cottage cheese, but aren't 100% certain.

I love curd tart but being exiled from God's Own County for many years have to mostly do without as my ( southern) Dh doesn't share my passion and my Dc likewise.

If you're in Yorkshire you might be able to buy curd cheese ( Longley Farm make it and supply supermarkets - they're based near Huddersfield).
Here is a recipe for
Curd Tart
which includes a recipe to make your own curds. They're not quite the same as cottage cheese, by the way, but I have used it as a substitute)

I use sieved cottage cheese in place of curd cheese.

Incidentally if you want to make your own curds without rennet, would lemon juice/vinegar do a similar thing, the way you make paneer?

Thanks very much for the replies.
Thanks for the link Campion - where would I buy rennet from.

I just got some from Waitrose this very afternoon and I think I've seen it in Sainsbury's ! It's usually with the cake decorating stuff.
