Having been inspired by the KFC thread on here - I really miss Nandos and we don't have it here.
Does anyone know how to recreate Nandos spicy chicken - please. I have bought their sauces etc before but it still doesn't tast quite the same. Any ideas - or failing that will anyone post it to me - lol .

I think you have to marinade it in the sauce first, then par cook it in the oven then finish it off on a very hot grill.

Where are you that you can't get Nandos. Move.

And you want to cook it in the oven covered to keep it super moist.

You need a rottiseree oven! They marinate and I think inject the meat under the skin. Buy a syringe from a chemist and have a go.

Oh and drinking a pint of tequila first may help add authenticity

In Belgium .
DP will think I am crazy if I start injecting chicken - but then he thinks that already .
Not sure about the tequilla but could do a Margarita .
But does anyone know what kind of spicy thing to marinade in...other than some form of chilli

Nandos sauce? Surely you can get someone to post it to you?

whomovedmychocolate · 21/04/2009 16:40

Black pepper, tamarind, chilli, salt, molasses and garlic.

whomovedmychocolate · 21/04/2009 16:41

Aha! I have it - you are eating Belgian chicken which as everyone knows is made of Belgium's only exports, chocolate and Poirot

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 21/04/2009 16:49

Piri piri sauce?

ChopsTheDuck · 21/04/2009 16:53

oven bags are great for keeping moisture in, then remove it for the last 20 mins.

nandos will do delivery to europe, but I think you have to spend a bit.
At least you get waffles, and nice cheese, and chips with mayo, and belgian chocolate liquor....

timmette · 21/04/2009 17:50

Belgian chocolate liquor - does that exist - might be a good idea if I don't discover it - . Generally the food is great here but impossible to get anything spicy with a bit of a kick .
I actually have all of those ingredients whomovedmychocolate maybe it's fate - lol
