I want some new cake tins

What brand or where to buy them from is what I haven't a clue about.

Most of my collection are the battered hand-me-downs of my MIL, which were fine when I didn't really bake that often. But, I have been baking and decorating at least one cake a week (which I know is not a lot, but you ought to see what I have to work with!)

My circular one has been squashed & pushed back into shape at some point. The bottom doesn't fit in the square properly & my oval one . . . . isn't a cake tin at all actually! It's a roasting tin from the £1 shop as I couldn't find anything else boat-ish shaped for Noah's Ark

Anyone any idea where I could get some nice shiny new decent tins for not a huge amount of money, to form the basis of a collection?

TIA

Lakeland, and they often do 3 for 2 offers.

oooh, I was in there Friday as well for a turntable, didn't think to look for tins whilst there! Ah well, looks like I'll have a wander online tonight then! Cheers Muffin

Tesco have some going cheap at the mo.

Steady.

Lakeland is addictive.

Get the paper liners too.

And the vanilla extract.

StirlingTheStrong · 12/04/2009 20:21

oh no - vanilla extract cheaper in Sainsbo!

lol, I know what you mean about Lakeland being addictive! My oh is always a bit [scared] when I'm online browsing, could quite happily sit & flick on there all day. I've only ever been in a Lakeland shop twice, in the past 2 weeks, & came away with something both times.

Am off to find the paper liners now as well, then see what I can get this time around.

cat64, are they red ones in Home Bargains? I think I've looked at those ages ago, just wasn't too sure about them. They always seem a bit flimsy, kind of like the bottom of the cake will fall apart if you push it out too hard. (does that make sense?)

I agree about Sainsbury's. Discovered it last week.

Someone beat me to it with Lakeland. I have got all mine from there using the 3 for 2 option, they are really good and will last forever.
