would you reheat some pasta with bolognaise sauce for your 18 mo old's tea?

He only had one little pasta twirl and then pushed it away. I do so hate wasting food and I'm tempted to reheat it and give it to him at tea time. That's not too harsh is it?

Get it reheated - no point in wasting good food!

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2009 14:19

god, totally. or put it in the fridge and do it tomorrow.

HeadFairy · 09/04/2009 14:22

oh good. Thought it might be frowned on spectacularly for not producing fresh meal every time. Little blighter has pushed away more meals than I've had hot dinners, so I'm damned if I'm going to carry on offering him fresh alternatives at the next meal. If he pushes it away again at tea time it's a tin of beans and off to bed with him

or a glass of milk and off to bed. that's what you get round here if you piss about at tea time.

IMO bolognaise always tastes better the day after anyway - so with a bit of luck he will enjoy it.

SlartyBartFastlaidanegg · 09/04/2009 14:25

not harsh at all

try adding ketchup to sweeten it

QuackQuackQuackQuack · 09/04/2009 14:27

My thoughts exactly Aitch, no chance of a tin of beans after dinner in this house

timmette · 09/04/2009 14:34

Serve it up again I do.
It's dinner or nothing here literally - I am not a cruel mother honest - please don't flame me.

gardeningmum05 · 09/04/2009 14:39

mix it up with a jacket potato and grated cheese. i find if i mix anything with these two its a winner every time
microwaved potato of course, lifes too short

Tomato ketchup on anything makes it instantly more palatable for ds, same for baked beans. chuck a tin of beans over what ever he's refusing and hey presto beans and food underneath all gone!

I made the bolognaise a few weeks ago, it's been in the freezer since then, but it's a cracking bolognaise with pancetta and porcini in (I was making some for dh and I and put some aside for ds, I don't normally go to those lengths for him )

It's one of my staples i have the freezer for dd's dinner when i can't be bothered i'm in a rush.
