If there was a fairly high chance of you going to vomit a bit later, even maybe tomorrow, what sort of food would you eat in the mean time?

DH and DS2 both have D&V.

It's likely that DS1 and I will follow suit.

I shouldn't have eaten those noodles for lunch should I?

What should DS1 and I be eating then?

Soup?

Claire2009 · 03/04/2009 12:42

Hope ur all better soon

nevergoogledragonbutter · 03/04/2009 12:42

Actually, the best thing u can do is to eat nothing. If you are really starved then bread, crackers etc but if not then don't eat cos ur feeding the bug so to speak.

Sheeta · 03/04/2009 12:43

Just toast...

Definitely no salad (boak)

procrastinatingparent · 03/04/2009 12:43

Something that you don't like much anyway, in case you don't want to eat it again. Whatever I have eaten just before I throw up I can't eat again for years. I was devastated to have pigged out on chocolate cake before one tummy bug.

Mung · 03/04/2009 12:44

I'd go for rice, I reckon. You may miss it, you know. DD and I had it and DH and DS missed out. I hope you get through it all (and the washing) ok.

theDreadPirateRabbits · 03/04/2009 12:44

Toast and marmite? Rice is good for clearing through your colon. A bit of extra salt to help you retain some fluids. And if you start vomiting, then Ribena's good as it tastes pretty much the same on the way back up... HTH...

NorbertDentressangle · 03/04/2009 12:45

Just don't have tomato soup -not a pretty sight. It will look like someone has been slaughtered.

I speak from experience.

Geepers · 03/04/2009 12:45

If it were me I'd eat nothing except soup or liquids. I can't stand the feeling of lumpy bits coming back.

PuppyMonkey · 03/04/2009 12:45

Am I the only one who's thinking just have a right good pig out on trash - and if it all comes out .... bonus!!!!.. ?

nevergoogledragonbutter · 03/04/2009 12:46

i feel perfectly fine right now.

i already have coronation chicken of my list of foods i will never be able to eat again after my last bout of D&V.

hope i don't get it. was looking forward to a nice weekend.

puppymonkey, that's a whole different thing entirely. i'm not bulemic.

Simplysally · 03/04/2009 12:48

Don't eat or dry crackers with sips of flat coke.

PuppyMonkey · 03/04/2009 12:49

I know, you're right of course it is a terrible thought to have...

CMOTdibbler · 03/04/2009 12:52

If you know that you are likely to vom, then chocolate pudding and strawberry milkshake are least repulsive things to sick up. Doesn't look terrible, not too acidic, and enough sugar to do some good whilst down

girlylala0807 · 03/04/2009 12:53

Plan food.

Cereal or plain pasta

I always found soup bad to bring back up

girlylala0807 · 03/04/2009 12:53

*Plain food

onepieceofcremeegg · 03/04/2009 12:55

Do NOT eat sweetcorn, mashed potatoes were pretty vile too.

(traumatic recollections of hyperemesis during pg when hospitalised) : vomit emoticon.

moshie · 03/04/2009 13:27

I saw a programme about trawlers and a fisherman on the boat recommended tinned pears because they're easy to bring back up apparently.

Beetroot · 03/04/2009 13:28

anything really fattening

nevergoogledragonbutter · 03/04/2009 13:30

i'm ignoring all your suggestions and have just had some cheesecake.

que sera sera!
