I have a 2.5 litre le creuset casserole dish. Will this be big enough for a beef bourginon to serve 10 - 12 people?

also, is a glass pyrex as good as a cast iron casserole dish? If I need a bigger dish I dont reqally want to spend £125 on another Le creuset.

I think you will struggle to fit a casserole for 10-12 people into any standard sized dish.

My main casserole dishes are Corningware (ceramic), and they can be used for oven/table/microwave/dishwasher.

Pyrex is fab imo but you can't start your casserole off in it (the onions and the browning, all that bit) because you can't put them on the hob. So two pans to wash up ...

But eeek at £125 for a le crueset. I never knew they were that expensive.

ta for responses.

I assume corningware will be expensive but will google. If Pyrex is good I dont mind browning onions in a pan first cos I saw pyrex casseroles in Asda for about £4. Minty, I saw LC for £100 - £125 today in department store Cant justify £125 and wouldnt want to anyway, can think of a dozen things I'd rather spend the money on!

Corningware is not expensive - it is similar to Pyrex, except all white. Sometimes, it is decorated, but mine is pure white.

Corningware
