My bread machine has given up and died on me at the weekend - I have had it 11 years and used it constantly for the last two years.

i need to get another machine and thinking about a panasonic - but not sure if I get this make which model?

Which model does what and what do I want - help please?

i want to make white, wholemeal and grannery bread and possibly the occasional fruit loaf.

I want to use the machine 4-5 times per week either making read or pizza bases or bread rolls.

definitely panasonic - I have the "basic" one without the fruit/nut dispenser (or whatever it's called) but I only make loaves in it so don't know about the "benefits" of that.

I've also got the "basic" model - the dispenser model might be useful if you make a lot of loaves with nuts/seeds as it might stop the pan getting scratched. I don't think there is any other difference between them.

The nut dispenser model also has a rye function which makes... you've guessed it gorgeous rye bread - well worth the extra to me but not for everyone I suspect. I've had mine 15 month & have used it daily - haven't bought bread since & is still as good as new.

What is rye bread like? Do you use the nut dispenser very much?

Rye bread is lovely. Is very dense & quite heavy - not for everyone - but I love having it as an alternative to wheat, I add loads of pumpkin seeds to mine. I rarely use the dispenser though.

have a panasonic at work... not sure of the model but it has the raisen / seed / nut dispenser thing

its really good, makes nice large loaves, and is so easy and user friendly to use!

has been used regulary (though not daily) for the past 3 years and is still as new!
