Only for serious biscuit obsessives: have Mcvities burnt a big batch of choc digestives?

Yes, I'm really asking that question.. (cue several other mners starting threads about the shite that some people post on here).

I eat a LOT of plain choc digestives, and the last two packets have been duff, just lacking that buttery aftertaste that makes you want another one, and looking at them, they have a burnt look about them.

Packets were bought at different shops. I'm really hoping that this is just a burnt batch and not (horror!)a recipe change or (double horror) me being completely barking mad...

So anyone else noticed this, or are you all too busy actually working or looking after your kids to detect subtle changes in your biscuit?

I am pg, and have gone through shocking phase of....not fancying biscuits at all!!

But am over that now and have had lots of yummy choc digestives in the last couple of months until these last ones.

But, really, thank you from the bottom of my heart for actually reading and replying to my ridiculous thread.

Oh god! I fancy a biscuit now! I love food which is overcooked or slightly burnt. Maybe I should go buy some...... Just to see of course !!

Thanks namechanged...they are important to me!

Tiffany, I'm the exact opposite: I like my toast only slightly toasted...no black bits at all...

any Mcvities insiders amongst the evening crowd?

It is because they have changed the recipe to include less saturated fat, I think. Haven't tried the digestives, but the hobnob recipe has definitely changed and tastes burnt and less buttery. (Felt I should post because I once started a similarly mind-blowingly trivial question about My Little Pony and was touched so many people bothered to post! Or maybe there's just lots of us who are easily distracted from The Things We Ought to Be Doing by minutiae!)

Oh dear, I'd rather have all the saturated fat without the burnt flavour
